We had a wonderful stay! The house was perfect for our Annual Girls Trip. This house had 2 amazing porch/ balconies and one that was screened in. The house had everything we could possibly need. We loved it! Only complaint was parking since we had multiple cars.

The house was wonderful. Furniture was very comfortable, the back deck on the main level was perfect for yoga and the wind chimes added to the tranquility of the home. I would describe this rental as having cozy mountain vibes. The perfect getaway, we hope to be back soon.

Home was perfect! Awesome location. Has all the comforts of home. We loved the beach club. Beast bang for your buck. Also enjoyed the splash pools and basketball courts. We will be making this an annual tradition.

We loved our stay here. The home is beautiful! We immediately felt at home when we walked through the front door. It was inviting and spacious. We enjoyed the open floor plan. The suite upstairs is large and private. My girls enjoyed having their own beds and bathroom downstairs. There is a ping pong table and floor checkers/tic tac toe on the decks along with a firepit, but it was too cold for us to spend time out there. We would love to come back during the spring or summer so we can participate with the outdoor activities of the home and community. I highly recommend this area and home!!! Thank you for allowing us to stay.

Lovely location, extremely comfortable rooms & beds, fun things to do at the house and within BigCanoe! The pool/beach/ kayaks/paddleboats were fantastic. And the rock slide was the most fun this grandma has had in ages! Maybe I missed it but I didn’t realize those amenities were $20 per person per day. They were worth it, but it’s good to be aware of!

For a family of 3, we had plenty of room in the Bear Cottage. Our kiddo enjoyed the checkers board, ping pong table, and variety of games throughout the home. The host was responsive to texts and provided great detail for check in/out instructions. We met up with a group of people for this vacation and Laurel Ridge neighborhood was perfect for us. Close to the Beach Club and Wellness Center. We would definitely stay there again.

This cabin was wonderful. It was extremely clean. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was very adequately supplied, even including kids utensils. They also included multiple dishwasher tabs and garbage bags. The ping pong table kept the kids entertained for hours, and we could still hear them from upstairs. It was a great stay and we'd choose it again if we returned to Big Canoe.

We loved our stay! Big Canoe is a gorgeous neighborhood and the cottage was perfect for us. We walked 8 miles on the trails in Big Canoe and then to the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail the next day. We enjoyed the Fainting Goat Winery after the hike. In Jasper, we saw one of our favorite musical artists, Sam Burchfield eating dinner and he was so kind to spend a few minutes talking to us. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. I enjoyed yoga on the lower screened in porch and dinner and coffee on the upper porch. It felt very private, even though you have neighbors. We loved listening to the birds while sitting on the deck. Great weekend and we hope to visit again!

I loved my stay here. The environment was extremely quiet and peaceful. The house and the property were beautiful and looked just like the pictures. The house was very clean. I’m especially picky about sheets and always check for stains and hairs, but the sheets were very clean! The host was very kind and responded almost immediately every time. They were very accommodating and helped me with anything I asked. Everything went smoothly and was very easy. The only thing I will say is despite there being tons of outdoor activities to do within the community, keep in mind that most restaurants, grocery stores, etc are at least a 20-40 min drive away. I think it’s worth the money. Again, what stood out the most was the kindness and responsiveness of the host.

Beautiful home. Stocked with everything you need. Extremely responsive. Had a minor issue when we arrived. Reported it at midnight and someone was there to fix the issue at 9:00 am the next morning!

Thank you for your kind words and staying with us! This guest reported that she wanted the hot water to be hotter. This house has a new hot water heater set at the manufacture's specification and at the lowest end. The heater was adjusted by 5 degrees which is still well within the safety range and the water was perfect for guest. We appreciate you..and hope to see you again! :)

Cottage is small footprint on 3 levels: main level is kitchen, dining, living, half bath, deck, screened porch. Lower level is laundry, screened porch and 2 BR with shared bath with tub/shower combo. Upper level is master BR with bathroom w/shower. Full kitchen is open to living and dining and is well equipped: large fridge, electric range, toaster oven, small microwave, both Keurig and drip coffee makers, electric kettle, blender, juicer, Brita pitcher, starter supplies of dish detergents, laundry pods, trash bags, paper towels, coffee filters. Plenty of dishware and silverware and even plastic plates/bowls/cups/utensils for kids. Pantry with room for your things. Bedrooms are furnished with dressers and side tables and large closets. Bed linens are good quality and beds are firm but comfortable and attractively made up. Ceiling fans have separate wall switches for light and fan. Full sized washer and dryer on lower level. Gated, upscale, quiet community about half hour from nearest towns, but grocery at main entrance and Dollar General at north gate. Streets are narrow and can be steep. No motorhomes or motorcycles. Houses in this neighborhood are close together with negligible yard space and short, tight 2-car-only driveway but ample decks and porches and a feeling of privacy. Extra parking is a couple of streets away from this home, as is a playground and other amenities. Rental agency is communicative and responsive.

Upon checking in, we discovered that the WiFi was broken. The management company was very responsive and arrived on Thanksgiving morning to replace the defective router. The home was comfortable for our two families.

Thank you for staying with us and your kind words! Just to clarify :) the wifi was not broken as both the TV and locks (which run on the wifi) were working without any issue. When the team touched base with guest on his stay he shared that he was having trouble with his phone and signing on. A team member went to the house to assist, but did not change the router as this is handled by the local internet company. It was our pleasure to support this stay of this wonderful guest, and we appreciate you. :)

From arriving a little early and luckily being able to check-in early all the way through check-out Mountain Home was just a text and fast response away!
Bathrooms and linens were terrific. Kitchen was well equipped and we loved the ping pong table. We enjoyed the games and even left one of our own along with books and puzzles for others to enjoy.
Maybe a few starter pieces of firewood would have been a nice bonus.
Watch out for the stairs as walking in socks the stairs can be slippery and down you go before you know it.
Highly recommended !

This was our third time to Big Canoe and it was just absolutely wonderful! This home was very spacious and had lots of great features! only complaint that there is like one dish towel. Big Canoe is not somewhere you go on vacation and go out to eat all the time, you do lots of cooking there! so my only suggestion would be some more dish towels for the guests! The home was well cleaned and taken care of. The driveway is also flat which is great and hard to come by in that area!

We lived our stay in Big Canoe. We lived in this amazing community for 18 years so it was just like coming home. This is a great location within Bug Canoe. Centrally located. I am 70 so the stairs were steep leading to the master bedroom and there is a step down just as you open the bedroom door. That is just for information. Our day was perfect.

This was my first time visiting Big Canoe & staying with Mountain homes and both were amazing. Mountain Homes had excellent communication during the booking process & upon arrival. We thought we had a minor issue when we got there and Mountain Homes got in touch with me in minutes and helped me. They had a booklet in the home with recommendations for restaurants , things to do in Big Canoe etc. The house was as pictured / described and was very clean. All appliances/t.v.'s worked great and the grill outside was an extra bonus. The ping pong table was also fun to use. The overall design of the home was very cozy with a nice cabin feel. All furniture / beds were very comfortable. No noise from neighbors or the street. This home is almost in a neighborhood inlet of big canoe but it is still very quiet. Check in directions were clear and easy. They have keyless entry which is great if your staying with multiple people. I would 100% stay in this home again, it was a perfect getaway.

We had a wonderful time at Bear Pause. It's a charming little cottage with the perfect amount of space for 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 9). We lived hanging out on the different decks and relaxing in the swinging chair. It was clean and comfortable and in a great location. It was nice being in a little neighborhood - personally, we would have felt isolated in one of the cabins in the woods. We'll definitely be back!!

Super comfortable and cozy! We were able to use the fireplace since it was the coldest week ever. Deborah answers phone calls and text - even on Christmas Day!! Helped me out tremendously! The IGA at the foothills is perfect for what you need. Dining table seats 8 comfortably. Loved it!

Wonderful place, we enjoyed our visit to Big Canoe. The home was lovely, everything well-maintained, and plenty of kitchen stuff if you wanted to fully cook meals. The porches were spacious and looked out over the woods. The home is close to others, but feels private. There is a lot for extra cars at the end of the road which is convenient as you are only able to park 2 vehicles.

Incredible! Views are gorgeous , master bathroom shower is like a mini spa day, the neighborhood amenities give you tons of close “things to do” but are still spread out so you truly get the mountain house/cabin experience. We’ll be back!

This place was perfect for our family. My three year old loved the nearby trails, the Wildcat pool area, and the beautiful hammock swing on the screened in porch. We ate all of our meals outside, since the weather was lovely. The four legged fur-babies loved the hikes and sunning on the back deck. There was plenty of space, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook.

Our family had a great time. Place was prefect for the long weekend. Plenty of room for four adults, three kids and a dog. Kids loved the screened porch and ping pong table. Beach area is in walking distance as well as hiking trails. We hiked to the waterfall. We will go back!

We had such a great experience at Bear Pause. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had a great layout. Everything was in perfect working order. Our only regret is that we had such a short stay. My husband and I talked about doing a longer vacation in the mountains next time- we would absolutely choose Bear Pause again!

We highly recommend Big Canoe and specifically Bear Pause! The cottage has a beautiful view from the front and back porches! The kitchen works nicely for cooking in -we grilled steaks on New Years Eve and the Weber works great too! The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable! All in all we would highly recommend this property and Wynn at the property management company!

We really enjoyed our Christmas get away @ Bear Pause in Big Canoe! The house was great and suited our family of 5 (us, 2 kiddos and grandma) and 2 small dogs. The house layout was perfect and the bedroom set up in the Dow stairs was great! - 2 Br w Q and 2nd BR w Q & T. The primary bedroom & bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated the deck and multi level screened in porches. The home is situated in the amazing community of Big Canoe and is a short drive to the amenities. We loved the fireplace, too! Grocery stores are close by and we ordered carry out @ Fuego (mex) and Ably (Asian) and we’re very pleased. Hubbie and I had a date night @ Home restaurant, right outside of the gate, and were very impressed with their food & service. All in all, loved the home and the community. Highly recommend!

This is a great property. Six of us went over Christmas and had a wonderful time! The beds were comfy, beautiful views of the mountains from every room and the fireplace was lovely. The rental company was extremely helpful. We didn’t know how to light the fireplace and the handyman came out immediately to show us. We went ice skating in Spring Hill, had dinner at a beautiful winery in dohlonega and went to amicacola falls. Big canoe has plenty of hiking trails. I highly recommend this property!!!

Bear Pause Cottage has lots of adorable bear decorations. It's very clean and the beds are comfortable! It's also close to a lot of great places to take the family. We went to Amicalola Falls and Gibbs Garden while we were there. The management team is very responsive and easy to work with. If you want to disappear into the mountains and never see other humans, Big Canoe is not the right community. But if you'd like to interleave your outdoor adventures with golf and fine dining, this place is perfect.

I booked this rental for a 5 day trip from Texas and we got so much more than we were betting on. The views, the amenities and the location were beyond perfect. We had a great view from any of the 3 decks and plenty of space. Ended the week wonderfully by getting engaged! We will definitely be back and are even considering the area for our wedding.

The Bear Pause house in Big Canoe is a great family house to enjoy all that Big Canoe has to offer. The house is clean and well appointed. All communication and processes were easy to follow. Only thing we didn't like was the water pressure in the showers is very low but maybe that's a Big Canoe issue overall, not sure.
